Das Wode Team gibt bekannt das sich der Release des WODE Lite in den Herbst verschiebt. Die normale WODE Jukebox ist allerdings weiterhin erhältlich.
WODE Lite has been postponed for release in Autumn (Europe Time - October).
The main reasons that WODE Lite has beendelayed are :
- The new feature of disc ripping requires a userto see the progress on the screen. The WODE Lite does not have a screen, so we will have to work on interface etc… need time to be done
-We want WODE Lite to be ‘Lite’ in size as well, so we are redesigningthe PCB board to make it smaller, this mean new samples, new casedesign, new protoypes (min 1 month)
- We want to fix the small bugsin 2.0 firmware, and finalize the WiFi capabilities on the standard WODE first
- We also want to start investing some time into a possibleWODE (Optical Drive Emulator) for the Xbox 360, a very exciting project
For now, the WODE standard is the only WODE on the market.
Bereits vor einiger Zeit sind Bilder eines neuen Wii Laufwerks (D3-3 bzw. D3-2 Mini) aufgetaucht. Im Gegensatz zu allen bisherigen Versionen lassen sich bei dieser Version die Laufwerksplatinen nicht mehr tauschen. Dadurch kann auch kein Mod Chip wie z. B. der WasabiDX oder WiiKey v2 eingebaut werden.
Die gute Nachricht ist allerdings das die WODE Jukebox auch weiterhin einwandfrei funktioniert.
Vom Wode Team gibt es einige interessante News. Zum einen wird die Produktion des bisherigen WODE Jukebox Chips eingestellt. Dafür gibt es zukünftig zwei neue WODE Chips: Die LITE und die ELITE Variante.
Bei der LITE Version handelt es sich um den eigentlichen Modchip, allerdings ohne Vertical Stand und Display. Enthalten ist dafür ein Dongle mit USB 2.0 Port und SDHC Kartenslot.
Die ELITE Vertical Stand Variante wird ohne den WODE Chip geliefert, ist also quasi ein Upgrade für die Lite Version.
Der neue vertical Stand verfügt übrigens über einen eingebauten 5x USB Hub und einem SATA zu USB Adapter.
Außerdem ist massig Platz im vertical Stand um eine interne Festplatte (2,5″) im Standfuß zu verstauen.
ELITE:
1- Internal space for an Hard Disk 2.5″ size SATA
2- Internal USB TO SATA adaptor
3- Internal 5 ports USB HUB with 4 free ports on the back of vertical stand
4- LCD screen to manage WODE interface
5- Really cool and compact design
LITE:
WODE LITE will be the new principal WODE hardware for the future. It will arrive in the market middle/end of April.
We reduced the hardware that normally stay inside the vertical stand in a smaller box without LCD.
We took this decision for three principals reasons:
1- Reduce the WODE size and so save shipping charges
2- Simplify the production
3- Try to reduce a bit the costs of device
REMOVE the vertical stand will not save a lot of money in production, we estimate about 5 eur less price between WODE LITE and WODE STANDARD VERTICAL STAND…
We can add also about 2/3 eur of shipping charge saving from china to distributors…
WODE LITE will have a street price about 10 EUR less than a WODE with STANDARD STAND.
WODE ELITE
We don’t abandon the idea of the vertical stand, is in develop WODE ELITE VERTICAL STAND, a special vertical stand with built in HUB and USB TO SATA ADAPTOR…
This special version will be sold like an extra accessory of WODE LITE..

After one week in beta test, we’re happy to announce that firmware 3.0 for Wasabi V1, V2, V3, Zero and DX is now labelled final. Users that already upgraded to 3.0 Beta don’t need to upgrade again.
As many of you already know, we’re strong advocates of DVD upgrades vs JTAG upgrades, and we think that it’s even more important today for plug & play chips than it was yesterday for soldered ones. Once you have installed a chip, you should be able to perform DVD upgrades, regardless of any new protection surfaces. We spent a great deal of time designing a very clean and flexible architecture for Wasabi DX that allows us to update its core microcode from DVD while providing a zero-latency experience to users.
As it’s hard to know which chip is really DVD upgradable just by looking at their descriptions (which could be misleading), here is a small comparison chart featuring all the last-gen chips. We hope it makes it easier to compare…

Die Kollegen von Wiinewz.com haben ein erstes Review vom demnächst erscheinenden WODE Mod für die Wii erstellt. Neben zahlreichen Infos erwarten Euch auch einige Bilder. Den Test könnt Ihr hier nachlesen. Einen genauen Erscheinungstermin für den Wode gibt es unterdessen noch nicht. Die Produktion soll aber zwischenzeitlich vollendet sein.
