TeamTwiizers, das Team hinter dem Twilight Hack und beliebtem Homebrew Channel hat eine neue Version von BootMii, eine Art Recovery Menü für den Nintendo Wii veröffentlicht. In der neusten Version des Installers wurde aber nicht nur BootMii beta 2, sondern auch DVDX, der BootMii Installer selber und der Homebrewchannel mit Neuerungen und Verbesserungen ausgestattet.

BootMii beta 2 (v0.9):
* SD card performance has been improved, decreasing the boot and the NAND backup / restore time
* backupmii accepts fragmented SD cards now, reformatting is not performed anymore. Old NAND dumps are still compatible.
* Introduced the INI variable “BOOTDELAY” to set the timeout for the auto boot feature
The Homebrew Channel v1.0.3:
* SDHC cards are working again
* SD performance has been increased again (regression was introduced in v1.0.2)
* HBC works on all system menu versions now
* Fixed rare hangs when exiting HBC
DVDX:
* Switched back to IOS < 37. While the SDHC problem for apps using DVDX has been fixed in libogc, there were also problems with USB keyboards under higher IOS versions
Installer v0.2:
* Installer now works on newer Wiis with boot2v4
* Fixed reading of boot1/2 on Wiis with bad ECC data in that area
* BootMii as boot2 and IOS can now be uninstalled
So wie es aussieht ist die Nintendo Wii Konsole nicht mal ansatzweise sicher vor findigen Hackern. Allen Anschein nach ist neben dem Twilight Hack, Bannerbomb und dem SSBB Exploit nun ein weitere softwareseitiger Eingriff (dieses Mal wieder das Spiel Super Mario Galaxy) in das System der Wii Konsole möglich der ebenfalls das starten von Homebrewsoftware ermöglichen kann.

D-Right? So ist es, die neuste Modchipentwicklung vom Infectus / Argon Team hört auf den Namen D-Right.
Der Wii Modchip der mittels JTAG Programmer über einen USB Port programmiert werden kann, sowie über Disk updatebar sein wird läuft wie nicht anders zu erwarten lötlos in jeder Wii Konsole bzw. in jedem Wii Laufwerk.
Wie mittlerweile Vielen bekannt sein dürfte hat Nintendo das Systemupdate 4.1 für die Nintendo Wii Konsole veröffentlicht.
Großartige Änderungen die zum Beispiel die Funktionalität des BannerBomb Exploit´s oder den Homebrewchannel beeinträchtigen gab es dieses Mal nicht. Auch nenneswerte Neuerungen sind nicht mit von der Partie. Wer dennoch die v4.1 Firmware auf seinem Wii installieren möchte aber auf “Features” wie den Truchabug nicht verzichten will, der kann mit dem Firmware Updater v4.1 von Waninkoko seine Wii nun problemlos aktualisieren.

Mit dem Homebrewbrowser kann man Homebrewfiles bequem auswählen und starten. Interessant ist auch die Möglichkeit die Software per Internetverbindung upzudaten.

* Added menu when pressing home, can go into settings, reboot the wii or return to loader. Hold the home button to return to loader at any time.
* Added settings which allow you to change when the image files are downloaded; either at startup or on-demand. Can enable or disable the free space text.
* Added update all applications feature. You access this when clicking on the SD card icon. Once you are shown your applications, the SD card icon changes to an update icon which you can click.
